Maturity is at the root of my choices. The days of frivolous living are long gone. They have a special place in my memory. But now it is time to build a solid future for myself and my family. I make choices today based on the life I deserve and envision for myself.
My professional path is focused more on longevity and positive results. I am only interested in work that develops my skills and keeps me successful.
Although financial soundness is a priority for me, it is secondary to a job that keeps me challenged professionally. I am disinterested in the kind of work that gives me a paycheck without the fulfillment.
The personal relationships I nurture now are ones that I see in my distant future. I focus on emotional bonds that build me up.
Any relationship that causes me heartache has zero value to me anymore. The continued richness of my life is dependent on who I have in it. I choose to keep people who encourage and support me.
Love is a constant theme for me. I open my arms to it across all aspects of my life.
Today, I think about living in the now while paying attention to how my choices impact my future. The simple rule for my life is to do things that bring me joy both today and in the long run.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- How do I challenge myself to identify the unfulfilling aspects of my life?
- What is the kind of future that I see for myself?
- How can I break ties with an old friend or acquaintance?
