I Adapt Well

I regard change as a natural and inevitable part of life.

I focus on what I have to gain. Losses create room in my life for new relationships and experiences.

I accept uncertainty. I remember that current conditions are temporary. LIfe is filled with ups and downs. I can make progress even when I have limited information and resources. I pay attention to the things I can control.

I maintain helpful routines as much as possible. I create a stable foundation. Change is easier to navigate when I stick to a regular schedule and enjoy familiar rituals. I maintain my usual bedtimes and mealtimes. I jog in the morning and read to my children at night.

I listen to my body. Starting a new job or going through a divorce might upset my stomach or give me headaches. I monitor and protect my health.

I reduce other sources of stress in my life. I treat myself with extra kindness and compassion.

I reach out for support. I talk with someone I trust if I feel sad or overwhelmed. Discussing my emotions helps me to put them in perspective. I gain insights. I receive encouragement and validation.

I take proactive steps. I prepare for major changes rather than trying to fight them or ignore them. I give myself time for reflection. I evaluate my options and start moving forward.

Today, I remain calm and resilient in the face of change. I turn transitions into opportunities for learning and growth.
