Each day is worth celebrating.
I lighten up. I see the humor in tense situations. I remember that life is full of ups and downs. I keep things in perspective during home renovations and dental appointments.
I try new things. I visit foreign countries and different neighborhoods. I take courses on ballroom dancing and watch videos about how to juggle. I keep a drawer full of yo-yos, wind-up dolls, and other fun toys.
I make art. I play music and dance. I dabble with finger paints and scented crayons.
I turn ordinary chores into a game. I pretend to play basketball when I gather up dirty clothes for the laundry basket. I run under the hose when I water my garden on a hot day.
I spend time with family and friends. Any activity can be joyful when I share it with someone I care about.
I learn from my children. We stage sock puppet shows and tell each other ghost stories. We make pancakes shaped like dinosaurs for breakfast and build a taco bar for dinner.
I team up with my partner. We encourage each other to make our lives more amusing. In between romantic date nights, we visit miniature golf courses and strange museums.
I goof around with my friends. We entertain ourselves by looking through old photos and going on road trips.
Today, I smile and laugh. Taking time out to play helps me to be happier and more successful.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- If I was making a collage about having fun, what kind of pictures would I choose?
- Why is it okay to laugh at my own jokes?
- How can I have more fun working at home?
