My home is my sanctuary.
I clear away clutter. I feel calmer when each room is organized. I pare down my possessions and create attractive storage solutions for the objects I need.
I connect with nature. I let in light. I grow herbs on my kitchen windowsill and keep a vase of flowers in the living room. I bring back shells and driftwood from beach vacations. I grow lavender in my bedroom so the fragrance can help me sleep.
I put limits on technology. Mealtimes and bedtimes are free from phones and tablets.
I keep happy memories and positive messages in sight. My walls and shelves are covered with family photos from vacations and graduations. I post inspiring sayings on my refrigerator door or bathroom mirror.
I listen to music. Even scrubbing the sink is refreshing when I am listening to my favorite songs.
I treat my partner and children with love and respect. I listen closely to what they have to say. We greet each other warmly when we come in the door. We communicate openly and resolve conflicts promptly.
Today, I begin and end my day in peace. Spending time at home helps me to feel calm and relaxed.
