I have had to learn to let go of an intense desire for a specific outcome for any experience. I notice that when I get too attached to the outcome, the experience often results in disappointment.
Through experience and training in manifestation skills, I acknowledge that there comes a point where I need to let go and allow the process to take place.
This is the key to being happy with what is.
I know that once I have done all that I can do, it is time to let go and allow the process to continue on its own.
There are many metaphors that exemplify this important principle. For example, consider baking a cake. I know not to open the oven continuously as the cake will fall.
Learning to be unattached to the outcome of an experience is an exercise in trust.
I am in the process of learning how to trust myself more, to trust the process more, and to trust life itself more.
I recognize that I am a high achiever. I take action to get what I want. However, I also recognize that there are times when I need to let go and just be.
I am learning how to be still – to just trust life and allow it to take over. I have found that this becomes easier with practice.
Today, by being unattached to the outcome, after I have done all that I can do, I relax into the lap of Life and just be. And more often, I am pleased with my experiences, too.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- How can I practice “just being” more fully?
- How can I recognize when it is time to let go?
- How can I practice being unattached to the outcome?
