I feel comfortable and at ease.
I stretch my muscles. I stand up and move around when I am sitting for long periods. I learn exercises I can do at my desk or in my car.
I build up my strength. Developing a powerful core takes pressure off the rest of my body. I slow down the aging process.
I work on my balance. I avoid injuries and feel steady on my feet.
I inhale and exhale slowly and deeply. I release tension and anxiety.
I scan my body for any areas of soreness or stiffness. I use self-massage or a foam roller to remove any kinks.
I adjust my posture to make daily activities easier for my body. I sit up straight. I gently lift my chest and roll my shoulders back and down. I use proper form when I lift heavy objects.
I check my sleep position. I protect my back and hips by lying on my side or back, rather than on my stomach. I use pillows for support. I rotate my mattress and replace it when needed.
I manage mental stress that can affect my body too.
Today, I listen to my body. I make healthy choices that keep me physically fit and limber. My body feels light and relaxed from my head to my toes.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- How can I make my work environment more ergonomic?
- What is one part of my body that tends to store tension?
- What would I say if I wrote a thank you letter to my body?
