There is meaningful value in looking back at the beginning of my journey. It is a source of drive and inspiration.
I commit some time each day to think back to where things started. Regardless of the size of my goal, it is always worthwhile to understand the beginning. I trace my steps throughout my journey thus far to acknowledge my accomplishments.
When I consciously focus on what I made happen for myself, I feel a sense of pride. I am motivated to keep going because I know that I have what it takes to make it.
Starting a business involves taking smaller steps that require my patience. As I put one foot after the other, I commend myself for staying the course.
I am diligent about doing even one small thing towards a goal each day. My energy towards achieving a goal is renewed with each action that I complete towards it.
At the end of each day, I smile at my progress. I remind myself that anything that seems too large to be possible is actually possible with smaller, attainable goals. As I think back to each achievement, I feel a greater sense of confidence in myself.
Today, I take one more step towards achieving something personally important to me. Each tomorrow has at least one thing to celebrate when I commit to making each day productive.
Self-Reflection Questions:
- How big does each achievement have to be for it to feel worthwhile to me?
- What are some of the measures I use to determine success?
- In what other areas of my life do I rely on reflection for inspiration?
